The Oslo+ meetings of international development actors provide a platform for bilateral development partners and relevant international agencies to share information on the latest developments in relation to human rights based approach to development and the Global Implementation Agenda. The initial meeting of the series was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway in Oslo in 2018 with the support of the Universal Rights Group (URG). Over the next years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and SIDA, EDA and the SDC, and the Permanent Missions of Denmark and The Netherlands to the UN in Geneva have joined URG to host subsequent meetings in different cities.
Following the Oslo meetings, URG publishes a policy report exploring how universal human rights standards are translated, through the actions of governments, parliaments, national human rights institutions and NGOs, in some cases with the support of development partners, into on-the-ground improvements in the enjoyment of human rights.
